Best influence on your career:

My husband. He has always believed me to be capable of more.

Best dinner companions (min 4, max 6):

Fun people who have great stories and something to say. Some names that come to mind: Chris Pratt, David Attenborough, Lolo Jones, Dwayne Johnson, and Jason Momoa.

Best job in the sports biz:

I have loved having the privilege to work closely with athletes and I find it to be so inspiring. Working every day to be a better version of yourself is contagious and it creates a really strong work environment.

Best professional regret:

There are many things I’ve failed at but learned from. You can never have too many languages in your arsenal so perhaps another couple of those!

Best skill you most covet:

Truly great storytelling. Those that can tell really good stories are the best to have around.

Best trait you admire in others:

Those that lead by saying very little

Best overrated virtue:

Organisation. It’s normally more a case of spotting problems before they appear.

Best ambition:

Be kind. No matter what.

Best industry event or conference:

Best book recommendation:

Thinking fast and Slow – Daniel Kahneman

The Chimp Paradox – Prod Steve Peters

Best bar or pub:

The ones at end of long muddy runs/walks

Best restaurant:

I’m an early bird and a big breakfast person so I like places that have long breakfast hours, great coffee and lots of outside space. All The Shapes in Manchester is a current favourite spot.

Best holiday resort:

Corsica is my all-time favourite place but it’s no resort. A whole island of mountains and trails.

Best box set:

Best pitch presenter you’ve ever seen:

Sales pitch presenter: Tim Ferris

On-pitch presenter: Graham Bell & Ed Leigh - Ski Sunday, so much passion and knowledge that translates well for a pro and a recreational skier/snowboarder alike.

Best sports marketing campaign (that wasn’t yours):

#ThisGirlCan I wish this had been around when I was in high school.

Best agency (that isn’t yours):

Best young industry talent:

It’s those voices in meetings that are asking the obvious question that no-one else is asking. If you have those in your business and you’re not paying attention – start now.

More specifically Ollie Robinson from Brandwave – a committed passionate marketer who is set for big things.

Best sporting event attended:

The Reebok CrossFit Games

Best sporting event on TV:

The Olympics (winter or summer) – the variety of sports, the commentary and the inspiration it delivers, in my opinion, can be found no where else.

Best brand ambassador:

Those that inspire and carry themselves with kindness to all they meet.

Best film containing a scene depicting the sports business:

My personal favourite is The Blindside. There are many others that have greater athletic endeavour or depict the nitty gritty of sport more but this cuts to the heart of how sport can change lives.

Moneyball is another favourite because it tells the story of nerds who bucked the system and challenged the status quo, who doesn’t love that.
